March whatever to April whatever - at home!

Home after 5 weeks touring through SE South Aust and SW Victoria to tackle the usual post-holiday stuff including stripping out plants that had suffered a little in the extreme heat. Despite the heat our garden had done extremely well. Our passionfruit, citrus and herbs were all AOK. In fact more than OK with dozens of new fruit on both the lemon and lime trees but the last of the passionfruit were lying spent in the garden, many dried out but some still edible - what an amazing vine! But with the garden and soil disturbed and some fresh veggie peelings scattered, a few new birds flew in. How they sense these things I don’t know - smell? from how far away?  It took a day for our usual birds to properly ‘welcome’ us back and after a bit of a reunion, one of our doves popped inside for a forage on our carpet - cheeky thing. I think they were pleased to see us home! We have an orchestra of crickets serenading us from our ‘insect corner’ which is seething with many busy bugs - it’s a perfect, albeit untidy, pile full of life. Oh how I love Autumn.
A rare visitor these days -  a mudlark
Besides gardening comes kitchen time. Here making juice - beetroot, carrot, turmeric, ginger
